Lead Pastor

I would describe myself as a pastor, husband, dad and scholar. Knowing Christ is the single most impactful thing in my life. I love chicken nachos, college football, and a good read. Beautiful melodies make me cry. My wife, Kristi, and I have been married 32 years and we have four adult children, all of whom live in west Texas. I've been in ministry for thirty of those years. The last 15 were spent in Lubbock, TX where I served as senior pastor of Broadview Baptist Church and associate pastor at Southcrest Baptist Church. Prior to that, we lived in Oklahoma City, where I was involved in evangelism and parachurch ministry.

I have authored several books, Two are devotional studies for sports fans. The third is called Faint Not: Powerful Prayer Along The Broken Road. I hold Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as Master of Ministry and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Master's School of Divinity.

Fun Trivia:

- As newlyweds, Kristi and I performed in musical productions with the Albuquerque Civic Light Opera.

- I spent a number of years working in radio.

- I used to be an Arena Football team chaplain.
