To some, a senior is an old person.  To us, at BSFBC, a senior is a person who has experience in life and who can use that experience under the leadership of God to bring hope to others.  Our seniors are a lively group of Christians over the age of 50 who rejoice in the gift of dear friendship from God.  Not only do they worship together, but they travel together, pray together, laugh together and love one another.  Our seniors contribute much to the life of our church and community.  If you are looking for a place to belong as well as a place where God can use you, then Beech Street is the place for you!!

A MINISTRY OF BEECH STREET FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH

PURPOSE

When the Lord has blessed us to grow in years, things such as income, flexibility, abilities to do things become less and less. We begin a life that is dependent on other people to get things done and to accomplish certain tasks. In some cases it is not because we don’t want to do these things it is the simple truth that we cannot perform these tasks. Therefore we need help and who would be the best people to help than the ones that have been taught by our Lord and Savior and has shown us how to aid our fellow man with love, dignity and respect.

MISSION

The mission of the Seniors 4 Seniors is to take the love we have been taught by Jesus Christ and to use it in ways that will benefit our brothers and sisters in Christ. We do this by using our gifts and our talents to aid and assist them when they call.

Seniors 4 Seniors is a ministry by members of BSFBC who volunteer to assist our senior adults by meeting their needs. These needs can include, but not restricted to:

Auto repair      Plumbing          Sewing              Minor House Cleaning

Electrical        Yard Work         House Sitting     Cooking

Painting          Carpentry         Pet Care             Sitting with the sick

Landscaping  Transportation  Gardening           Food Preparation

And other needs that a senior member of the church would call for.

PROCEDURE

When there is a need that has been identified by a member of BSFBC, then that person is to call into the church office at 870-774-5165 and let the receptionist know who you are, the need, the address of the need, and the time frame the needs to be resolved.

Name ______________________________________

Address ____________________________________

Phone _____________________________________

Need _______________________________________________________________

Date(s) needed _______________________________________________________

After all the information is received, then this information is given to the Senior Adult Minister for review and assignment. It may be necessary for him to investigate the need before making assignments so that the correct people are assigned for the task.

Once the assignment is made and the need is fulfilled then the volunteer will report back to the Senior Adult Minister so he will know this task is accomplished.
