History of the Ministry

Beech Street Communications Corporation was formed in 1987 to establish a Christian television ministry in Texarkana. Board members were selected from the church body and a separate nonprofit corporation was founded in early 1988. Funding for the initial equipment and the first year of operation was provided by Beech Street First Baptist Church.

Acts of Texarkana went on Dimension Cable channel 36 on June 1, 1988. Initial programming included the regular Sunday and Wednesday worship services, and a live Sunday School program began a few weeks later.

Community programming, most notably, "Positive Alternatives" hosted my Mike  Huckabee, and Texarkana football began in August and September.

During the past few years some notable changes have occurred. In 1990, construction on a low power television station known as KBSC began. "We Have a Heart for Texarkana" was the station's slogan.

Construction on the Beech Street Communications Corporation production truck was completed in September 1994. In October, 1994, we became a Family Net affiliate and began airing programming from their digital satellite.

In January 1995, we were assigned our official FCC call letters, KLFI, and our slogan became
"Sharing Life with Texarkana."

Our programming is currently seen on Texarkana cable channel 10 and Channel Vision cable
channel 36 in Miller County, Arkansas, and UHF channel 35, Texarkana, AR/TX.

Our Programming has grown to include: "Heart to Heart'', Texarkana sports, and worship services
of many other churches in the area. We also have several programs featuring area pastors throughout the week. Other programming includes City Council meetings, Kiwanis Auctions, High School Coach's shows, parades, Arkansas Baptist State Convention, graduation ceremonies, youth programs. We also produce videos and commercials for local businesses and charitable organizations.

The volunteers are the heroes of this
work and God has blessed this ministry. If you would be interested in becoming a part of this exciting
